About
A 1912 villa that learned new tricks
Ambra began as the summer house of a Gdańsk amber merchant. Today it has 38 rooms, a spa and a restaurant, but still the garden, the veranda and the wooden stairs that creak in the same places.

Our story
A hundred years on the same bay
The villa was built in 1912 by Ernst Lemke, an amber merchant from Gdańsk. Hence the name: ambra is an old word for amber. Over a hundred years the building served as a guesthouse, a holiday home and an architects' office.
In 2021 we restored the villa with the heritage conservator and added a new wing of glulam timber and glass. The old part has 14 rooms with original plasterwork; the new one has 24 rooms facing the sea.
